The Outdoors and Children
It is well known that physical activity and exercise has both immediate and long-term benefits, however with a young family and busy schedule, it is difficult to find the time to fit in exercise. A solution to this is to find an activity that both young and old can enjoy such as bush walking. The trick is to find a track that will keep children interested whilst also not being too long to make them exhausted before you finish the walk, with that in mind, you are sure to find the perfect track in Morton National Park.
A scenic drive through real estate Burradoo and real estate Moss Vale will lead you to the beautiful Morton National Park. Situated south southwest of Sydney with entrances in the Southern Highlands and the South Coast, the enormous park has a range of activities including bush walking, canoeing, climbing and mountain biking. The cascading Fitzroy Fall’s waterfall will certainly keep your children interested whilst also allowing the whole family to enjoy the beauty of being outdoors.
A good idea is to reward your children with a picnic in one of the many well equipped picnic areas for their hard efforts. This will give you all the chance to take a well deserved break and to enjoy the surroundings. Morton National Park is a sanctuary for all kinds of wildlife with the rain forest and euculypt forest supporting the local fauna. Whilst resting in a picnic area, you will have the chance to do some bird watching with birds such as lyrebirds, parrots and eagles calling Morton home.
As well as the scenery, Morton National Park is rich in Aboriginal history. As Morton National Park is the traditional land of the Yuin people, several hundreds of sites have been recorded there. The park’s beautiful Didthul mountain and Fitzroy Falls are also significant in Aboriginal mythology. As the occupation of the land by the Yuin people dates back 20,000 years, there are sure to be more sites waiting to be uncovered.
On your way home be sure to pass through the historic townships and see what is selling Bowral to visitors from all over Sydney. With a vast range of eateries and unique shopping boutiques, you can end your day with a bit of shopping or simply pop into one of the many cafes or restaurants for a relaxing meal.
